According to Saudi labor laws, the GOSI contribution profiles for employees under the new insurance system will change starting from July 2026. Therefore, the system admin may need to update the insurance information in Jisr for a large number of employees, to ensure compliance with the new regulations. This can be done in bulk, via the data file import feature as follows:
Before you start:
- You must confirm and close previous payroll runs (up to June) before performing this update to avoid any errors in previous payroll calculations due to the impact of this migration.
- If you open any past payroll from June or earlier (e.g. May or April), ensure that each employee profile has the correct contribution percentage applicable for that specific payroll period.
1- Go to the Settings page, tab Organization > Data Import & Export
2- Click on the Export action for the Payment Method & GOSI Details file
3- When the file opens, note the following columns at the end of the table:
- GOSI Current Applied Dropdown (do not edit): This column shows the employee’s current contribution profile. Note that the system will ignore any changes made to this column in this file.
- GOSI New Contribution Percentage (edit here): This column initially displays the current profile assigned to the employee, but you can modify it according to the new law. Select the new profile from the dropdown list, as is done when editing the employee’s profile.
- GOSI Pension Reform (do not edit): Displays whether the employee follows the NEW or OLD insurance system. For non-Saudi employees, or if the insurance data file has not been uploaded for some employees before, the status shows "Not Available". Note that the system will ignore any changes made to this column in this file.
Also, two more columns are added to complete all relevant employee information that might affect the GOSI rate selection:
- Employee Nationality
- National ID/IQAMA ID
4- To facilitate updating rates for employees, you can use the filter feature in the Excel file on the GOSI social insurance law column to display only employees under the NEW system.
You can also filter the Current social insurance policy column and update each profile individually, then save the file and upload it to Jisr at one step.
Note:
Retro calculation: manual handling required
If a new joiner has a retroactive salary period spanning from June (pre-cutover), their June GOSI calculation will incorrectly use the new system profile after migration. Therefore it must be handled manually by the admin.
