Managing the Remaining Balance:
This feature allows you to select a policy for carrying forward unused annual leave balances from the current calendar year to the next. The system provides several options to define the organization's policy regarding unused leave balances.
To avoid issues related to carrying forward annual leave balances at the end of each year, it is essential to ensure that the "Carry Forward Policy" for unused annual leave balances is properly set by the employees.
When selecting or modifying the carry-forward policy, the system will apply the specified policy to the current year only.
You can define how to handle the remaining balance if an employee completes the year without utilizing their entire leave balance, according to the following policies:
Settings > Leaves & Holidays > Leave Types
- Full Balance Carry-Forward: The entire remaining balance from the current year can be carried forward at the end of the year as an opening balance for the following year.
- Zero Balance: The remaining balance cannot be carried forward to the next year.
- Partial Balance Carry-Forward: A portion of the remaining balance can be carried forward at the end of the year as an opening balance for the following year.
Note: Employees must take their annual leave during the year. If the company prevents them from doing so, zeroing out the leave balance or partially carrying it forward may be considered unlawful. It is recommended to consult labor law specialists in such cases.
