A new feature has been launched in the Jisr system, which is the ability to group and merge groups in approval policies, roles, and permissions, providing organizations with a powerful way to organize and manage their teams. Organizations will now be able to create groups for employees who share similar characteristics, whether it be employment type (such as full-time or part-time work) or location (such as Egypt or Saudi Arabia). Each group will have custom approval policies and designated managers, giving teams a personalized and effective way to handle approvals for employees joining the organization, making the guidance process much easier.
Overview:
The current system in Jisr faces limitations in managing permissions, posing significant challenges for organizations. It is difficult for admins to grant specific and secure permissions to managers and human resources employees without compromising data protection or granting unnecessary permissions. Additionally, manually setting policies for each employee individually leads to repetitive and inefficient admin tasks. To overcome these challenges, implement the "Grouping" feature.
This feature aims to enable users to create and manage custom groups of employees based on diverse characteristics, such as location, nationality, and employment type. Through this feature, users can perform specific actions on certain groups, improving operational efficiency and reducing repetitive admin tasks.
The Problem:
Shortcomings in Permissions Management: The current system in Jisr suffers from limitations in permissions management, presenting challenges for organizations with different teams, locations, and varied functional roles.
Difficulty in Granting Specific Permissions: It is challenging for system admins to provide specific and secure access to managers and human resources employees without compromising data protection or assigning unnecessary permissions.
Slow Policy Setup: Manually setting policies for each employee requires significant time and effort from the human resources team, leading to repetitive and ineffective admin tasks.
Solution:
To overcome the challenges of managing current permissions in the Jisr system, we propose to implement the “Grouping” feature. This feature aims to address the challenges by enabling users to create and manage custom groups of employees based on various attributes.
How the solution works:
Creating groups: Users can create custom groups by specifying specific criteria. These criteria can include:
- Location: Identify employees who work in a specific geographic location.
- Nationality: Group employees based on their nationality.
- Employment type: such as permanent employee, contract employee, intern.
- Departments: Group employees based on the departments they belong to (such as sales, marketing, human resources).
- Social Insurance (GOSI): Group employees based on social insurance status.
- Payment types: such as cash payment, bank transfer.
- Work shifts: Group employees based on the shifts they work in.
- Business unit: Group employees based on the business units they belong to.
Note: A new default role “Group Manager” has been added in the system. This role is independent of the organizational structure and gives group managers the flexibility to effectively oversee their specific groups.
Key Features of the Solution
- Time Saving: Reduced time spent manually setting approval policies for new employees.
- Increased Efficiency: Increased number of users with permissions tailored to the needs of the group, reflecting the ability to adapt across locations and employment types
- Customized Workflow: Groups are integrated into the workflow for approving requests.
- Improved User Experience: By providing an easy-to-use and flexible user interface.
- Meeting the diverse needs of organizations: By being able to create custom groups that meet the needs of each organization.
