Defining cost centers

The company can define multiple cost centers ( tracking dimensions ) in this section to split the cost of each accounting journal into these cost centers.

Cost centers may vary from one company to another based on their accounting need, for example, some companies will have the departments as their cost centers, whereas others may have the branches.

You may also define multiple dimensions of cost centers, where you'll have the ability to use both the departments and the branches in your accounting journal.

In case the company doesn't have any cost center dimensions in their accounting journal, you may skip this section as it's an optional choice for the journal.

• Click on add a new tracking dimension button.
  
  

• Define the name of the tracking dimension In Arabic and English ( like Department / Locations )

  

• Choose the method to group employees under these cost centers in a journal:
  
  - Organization level assignment:
  Which will be based on choosing an existing structure that has been already defined ( Like Parent departments - Department - Areas - Locations ).

  
  - Custom assignment: 
  Where you can define the tracking dimensions manually and assign it to the employees accordingly.

  1) Click on Create new button.
  2) Define the name of the tracking dimension in Arabic and English. ( like HR department, Sulimaniah branch )

  3) Define the Item code for this tracking dimension ( as per your accounting software )
  
  

  4) Assign the employees who will be under this dimension.

Note: Regardless of which Cost center method you have selected, you need to make sure to have all the employees assigned to at least one group, verify this before generating the journal.
