As part of system enhancements, a new feature has been developed to host and operate all ZKT biometric devices on the BioTime system, ensuring an improved user experience and continuous updates. Since there are devices currently operating on the WDMS system, the new update requires transferring them to BioTime. This will be done through a self-service workflow that clients can perform directly without needing to contact support.
The system allows the client to log in to their BioTime account via Jisr, where all their biometric devices will be automatically added to their designated locations. No modifications will be required for devices hosted on BioTime, while intervention will be limited to transferring devices hosted on WDMS to BioTime, as detailed below.
Ensuring a Smooth Transition
To ensure a seamless migration, the client must have an account on the BioTime system linked to the bridge. For more details on linking Jisr to BioTime, you can refer to this article.
How to Use the New Feature?
-
Go to Attendance Reporting and then the Attendance Mechanisms tab.
Here, you will see a list of locations and the devices linked to them. If there are devices need to be migrated, a message will appear notifying you, as shown in the image. -
As a first step, the user must log in to their BioTime account by clicking the "Biotime Management" button.
Alternatively, you can click the "Edit" button to access the location, then click "Add Device."
- A BioTime login window will appear. Enter the system link, username, and password for your BioTime account.
Important Note:
You must check the box to confirm that the version being used is the correct one. Using an incompatible version may cause issues that we won’t be able to resolve, so it is recommended to update the version.
Additionally, if the user is already a BioTime user and has logs recorded on their devices, they can import logs for up to the past two months. These logs will appear in Jisr system only for devices selected for import and for employees registered on both systems (BioTime and Jisr).
Transferring Devices
Once logged in, you will find a list of pre-configured devices for the location. The "Migrate to BioTime" button will only appear for devices hosted on WDMS. Click the button to initiate the transfer and then click the button "Save and Proceed".
