What is BioTime?
BioTime is a program developed by ZKT company to manage its fingerprint recognition devices. BioTime is used to track employee attendance and departure, manage their data, and facilitate communication between devices and reports.
The BioTime software offers an effective solution for managing employee attendance and departure, including tracking device status, adding employee data, and controlling access from multiple locations with efficient employee distribution.
How Does BioTime Work?
- Attendance Recording Devices: BioTime integrates with a variety of attendance recording devices such as fingerprint scanners, facial recognition devices, and access cards.
- Data Recording: When an employee clocks in or out, this data is recorded on the device and then transferred to the BioTime software.
- Database: BioTime stores all attendance and time-off data in a centralized database.
- Reports and Analytics: The software provides a wide range of reports and analytics to help management track employee performance, analyze attendance patterns, and identify any discrepancies.
Supported version for integration with Jisr: BioTime 8.5.5 or BioTime 9.5.2
Installation of the Program:
The program can be installed on any server running Windows, whether it is a local or cloud server.
Installation on a Local Server: After obtaining the program from the company's website, it can be installed on any Windows-based computer. A static address must be acquired to access the computer and the BioTime program from anywhere.
This static address can be obtained through one of the following methods:
- Obtaining a static IP address from the local Internet service provider.
- Using a DDNS service to link the dynamic address to a static one, which can also be requested from a provider of such services, and configuring the linking settings on the router or through tools provided by the service provider.
Note: To activate the DDNS service on 4G and 5G networks, it is necessary to subscribe to a special program provided by BioTime, for a subscription fee. For more detailed information about the available programs and prices, please contact the service provider.
Installation on a Cloud Server: A cloud server can be reserved from cloud service providers like AWS or Azure. Subsequently, the system can be installed on it, which can be obtained from ZKT's website or requested directly from them.
In this scenario, a domain address will be provided to access the program and link it to fingerprint devices for BioTime control.
The required data for linking a customer account:
- The server address that allows access to BioTime from outside the network, whether it is a static IP or a DDNS domain.
- The username and password for the user with full permissions on BioTime.
- A licensed of BioTime.
- The server (including details on whether it is local or cloud-based).
- Internet connection (via cable if the server is local), with login settings configured for remote access to the program from outside the local network in the case of a local server. If a wired connection is not available, BioTime can be installed on a cloud server or on any other location with internet access, even if it is distant from the device's location.
- Supported device.
The client must ensure that a supported device is chosen by informing the seller or agent of their desire to connect the device to the BioTime according to the specified version.
Notes:
- Jisr doesn't support integration BioTime account while the client is using the BioTime trial version, because integration in this case data will loss when the trial period ends.
- It is mandatory not to change the username and password after sharing them with the Jisr support team, as any changes to this information will affect the linking process.
- The user's computer must remain connected to the internet and should not be shut down to prevent the integrating process from stopping.
- The integrating with Jisr does not support integrating with the BioTime Cloud version at biotimecloud.com.
- Ensure that the fingerprint device is compatible for integrating with BioTime version 8.5.5 or BioTime version 9.5.2
