Since the system automates employee request processes through the self-service application, it's important to configure and define the approval workflow settings for overtime requests within the organization. This has a direct impact on governance and the tracking of how employees submit their requests.
To allow the system admin to set up the approval workflow, follow these steps:
Go to Settings > Requests & tasks > Request types & approval cycles
A direct link is also available in the Quick access page
From the Request Types list, select Overtime
Click the Add Approval Cycle button
Enter a name for the workflow
Enable/disable the option “ All Company Employees”
If you wish to apply the policy to specific employees only, disable this option, then select the employees or groups authorized to submit overtime requests under this workflow.
Choose the approver/s workflow(e.g., direct manager, then department head, etc.).
Click the Create button.
(If there’s an existing approval policy, click the pencil icon to edit the current approval flow, then click the Update button.)
