In addition to the default roles available in the Jisr system, the system administrator can define and manage new custom roles as follows:
On the Settings page, go to Access & Security > Employee Roles and Permissions
To add a new custom role
- Click the Create Role button
- Choose one of two creation methods:
- Either by using one or more existing roles as a template to base the role’s permissions upon
- Or from scratch, meaning you will define all the role’s permissions manually
- The creation process using a template involves three steps:
- Select one or more roles to use as a starting point. In this step, you can filter the displayed roles by type (default / custom) and category (Manager / Supervisor / Employee, etc.). You can also review the permissions of each role using the "Preview" link.
- The second step is to configure the required permissions for this role. Some permissions will be enabled based on the roles selected in the previous step, but you can enable or disable any other permissions as needed. Navigate between the permissions tabs by product, displayed on the left side of the page.
- In the third and final step, enter the role details shown on this screen. Note that the category defined here will be reflected in the categories list used to filter roles in the selection step.
- In this step, you also assign the role to employees, either by selecting individual employees, choosing one or more user-defined groups, or by creating a new group and defining dynamic criteria to select employees within it.
- Finally, click the Create button to complete adding the role
- If creating a role from scratch, the steps start directly from the second step related to configuring permissions
To edit or delete a custom role
- Select the Custom Roles tab on the Roles and Permissions page
- From the actions menu next to each role, you can modify assigned employees, edit the role’s permissions and details, or delete the role entirely
- You can select multiple roles and delete them all at once
Note:
- Exclusive permissions for the system administrator cannot be assigned to any custom role in the system, such as updating account information, managing roles and security, billing, and creating custom report templates.
