How to Create a New Expense Claim Using the Jisr App

Managing your business expenses is now faster and smarter with the Jisr mobile app.
Whether it’s travel costs, client meetings, or work-related purchases, you can create expense claims, upload receipts, and track approvals — all directly from your phone.

An expense claim in Jisr allows employees to request reimbursement for business-related expenses. With OCR technology, Jisr makes the process seamless and paperless.

  1: Open the Jisr App

1. Launch the Jisr app on your mobile device.

2. Log in with your company credentials.

3. Tap the “Expenses” icon from the bottom navigation menu.

 2: Start a New Expense Claim

• Tap the “Create Expense Claim” button. and select either Scan Receipt or Enter Manually.

 3: Scan Receipt option

• Tap “Scan Receipt” and take a clear photo of your receipt using your phone’s camera.

• App will scan the receipt and automatically fill in key fields, including:

  • Expense amount

  • Transaction date

  • Merchant name

💡 Tip: Always review the auto-filled details to ensure accuracy before submitting.

4: Review Expense Details

Check and fill in any missing fields:

• Expense Category → Choose the correct type (e.g., Travel, Meals, Supplies).

• Reason of Purchase→ Add a short note explaining the expense.

By selecting the "Upload Receipt" option, you can browse your mobile and upload the receipt photo and follow the same steps explained above.

5: Add to an Expense Report

6: Submit Your Expense Claim

1. Review your claim details and receipt.

2. Tap “Submit” to send it for approval. It will go through the pre-defined approval cycle.

3. The request will go through the defined approval cycle, and approvers can approve, reject, or return the claim with comments.
